There are important changes to NSW strata and community land laws starting 27 October 2025! Direct Strata Management have already preparing for these changes which we see as positive! Some of the key changes are: A new mandatory information statement, which must be sent with levy notices. This is to inform and help owners in financial hardship. Fairer payment plan arrangements to support an owner who requests one. Reinforcing the duty of the owners corporation (or the association, for community land schemes) to repair and maintain common property. To support properly maintained buildings, NSW Fair Trading will be able to investigate issues and direct the owners corporation to comply. We will prioritise intervention where health or safety is at risk. New duties for building and facility managers and clarifying their role.A new reason that allows an owners corporation to change or end a strata or building management agreement through the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT).
